2020 Bible Memory Challenge: New Verse For May

Now, more than ever is a great time to be putting Scripture to memory.

Each month here at Element Church, as a part of our 2020 vision as a staff, I am challenging us to memorize one verse or passage of Scripture together. Each of the verses we memorize will be linked to one of our core values or a part of our vision statement. I would love for you to join us in this memory challenge.

This month’s verse is Colossians 3:23 (NLT) Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.

This goes along with our core value of “It Matters: No matter how you serve in the Church, it matters for you, and it matters for the Church.”

Here are the first four passages we have committed to memory:

Galatians 1:10 Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant. (Obedience is our success)

Romans 12:4-5 Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. (Better Together)

Luke 5:31-32 Jesus answered them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent.” (A place to call “Home”)

Luke 15:7 In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away! (If only for the ONE)
