Element Church: Volunteer Of The Week
Hey Element Church! Meet Stormy, this week’s Volunteer Of The Week. Stormy was nominated by Andy, one of our campus pastors, who said this: “Stormy serves as a leader on the 11 am Living Room Team. She is one of the most consistent volunteers I’ve seen here at Element and always has such a joy in serving.”
Stormy has attended Element for a little over 6 years with her 3 children. Stormy’s oldest daughter, Shannon, recently started volunteering in e:kids. Stormy is a Director with Thirty-One Gifts, as well as being a home-school mom and single parent. She likes anything outdoors and enjoys being in the mountains hiking and exploring. Impromptu road trips to new areas are also a favorite for her and the kids.
When asked why she serves at Element, Stormy said, “I serve at Element because I believe 100% in the goal they have to reach the community. Plus when I had God laying it on my heart to serve and then HE had Pastor Steve asking me about it weekly, I knew it would be a perfect fit. Serving at Element fills me with so much joy. Working in the Living Room, and getting to meet those new faces every week never gets old. I love how God always has the perfect timing to bring them through the doors. Over the years, I have laughed with these people, cried with them in their sorrow and hurt, talked with them about their struggles, and held their hands as we prayed together to ask Jesus into their lives. Making that connection and seeing how God is working in them after these encounters, it is something I never get tired of seeing. It never ceases to amaze me how powerful the love of God can be.”
Stormy, you have made such an impact in so many lives by following God’s call to volunteer and serve. The contribution you make is changing lives. You MATTER! Thank you for all you do.
