Element Church: Volunteer Of The Week

Hey Element! Meet Devin, this week’s Volunteer of the week. Devin was nominated by Lesley, our Children’s Ministry Assistant, who said this: “Devin is a dynamic member of the e:kidz team.  He is so full of life and the kids are drawn to his energy and his passion for sharing God’s word.  Devin serves on both A & B weeks in Ignite for the 9am services, and it has been so fun to watch the excited faces of the kids each week when they see that he is teaching.  Devin is enthusiastic and he teaches in a way that the kids can understand and relate to. Devin has also been intentional as a leader in his classroom, he pours into the other volunteers that he serves alongside and he challenges them to grow as leaders and often gives them opportunities to lead in the classroom.”

Devin has been attending Element for a year. He is a server at Olive Garden, a student at LCCC and a Blackhawk mechanic in the Wyoming National Guard. His fiancé also attends Element. She is the reason he starting coming to Element last Easter. “She was the one who encouraged me to find a volunteer opportunity and start attending a small group. She’s definitely been a prayer answered just for me. She’s my best friend. I can’t wait for us to start our life together.”

When asked why he serves at Element, Devin said, “Serving in e:kidz is one of my favorite times of the week. I love seeing the kids so energetic about being there and love playing football or nine square or doing karaoke. The first time I had a kid accept Christ, it weighed really heavy on my heart. It truly showed me the impact I have on them and gave me a greater appreciation for the role of responsibility God has put me in.”

Devin, you do have an impact.  What you do in e:kidz is helping both the students and their parents experience life in Christ!  Thank you for what you do.  What you do MATTERS!
