Meatloaf Christianity

This week at Element Church we started a new sermon series called “True Love.”  In this series we are looking at four passages from the book of 1 John, where the Apostle John really lays out what real love is.  The theme verse is 1 John 3:16 which says, “We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.”

In this first week we said, “Love is all we need as long as that love is what God seeks,” and we asked the question, “What kind of love is God seeking?”  In this clip, I talk about a “costly love” that God is looking for.  I use a reference of the singer “Meatloaf” as an example of how sometimes we would do anything for love…but we won’t do that.  You can watch full sermons HERE.
