How To Safeguard Your Faith
The key to safeguarding your faith is to choose to rejoice in the Lord!

Philippians 3:1 says Whatever happens, my dear brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord. I never get tired of telling you these things, and I do it to safeguard your faith.
Now I know that when Paul said “these things” he was referring to more than just rejoicing in the Lord, but out of all the things that Paul told the Philippian church, rejoicing seems to be the best defense of our faith in hard times.
He said, whatever happens. We’re pretty good at rejoicing in the good times, but Paul said that no matter the times, rejoice in the Lord. The key word is “in”. When my car breaks down I don’t rejoice in the broken down car, I rejoice in the Lord. When I lose my job I don’t rejoice in losing my job, I rejoice in the Lord. When I get sick, I don’t rejoice in my lack of health, I rejoice in the Lord. The Lord is the only thing that never changes which is why I can rejoice in the Lord.
Back in December, I did a sermon on joy. As I read that verse during my quiet time I immediately thought about the clip below. I need to choose to rejoice in the Lord.
