I Have Rights! But Should I?

We live in an age of equality do we not?  And I’m not talking about racial, religious or gender equality, I’m talking about lifestyle equality.  That if I do something for them then they better do something for me!  If they treat me poorly then I’ll treat them poorly.  If they get that privilege I should get that privilege.  We have trained ourselves as humans to look at what everyone else receives and how everyone else lives and think that I should have at least the equal in my life.

This past Sunday at Element Church we started a new sermon series called “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”  In this series we are talking about evangelism.  But evangelism goes far beyond just what I say or how I say it.  It starts with our attitude.  With how we neighbor.  That if we would truly live our lives as Jesus called us to.  If we would truly love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and love our neighbors as ourselves, I think that many people would look to us and at least feel “Won’t you be my neighbor?”

In Philippians 2 we saw that we are commanded to have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.  We asked the question, “How can I have the same attitude of Jesus?”  We said, “To act like Jesus we first need to have the same attitude as Jesus.”  In this clip here, I talk about how, like Jesus, we need to give up our privileges.  You can watch full sermons HERE.
