I Ignored God’s Voice

This past Sunday at Element Church we continued our Christmas Sermon series called “Silent Night.”  In this series, we are using the Christmas story and Christmas season to talk about seasons of life that are anything but silent or seasons where God is silent in our life.  In life, many times we are busy, overwhelmed, afraid or unprepared.  So, how do we walk through those seasons?

This week, we asked the question, “What do we do when it feels like God is silent?”  So many times, we go through seasons where it feels like God is silent.  We ask for provision, we pray for protection but it seems like He’s not even there.  So the big idea was this:  Just because God is silent in my life does not mean He is absent from my life.

In the clip below I talk about how in the seasons of silence we need to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit.  I preach from Luke:2-25-38 and look at how Simeon dealt with silence in his life.  When God is silent in the significant things, we still need to be sensitive to His leading in the small things.  I share a story in this clip about how I recently tried to ignore the prompting of the Spirit.  You can watch full sermons HERE.
