Jesus Wasn’t Peaceful

img_0139On Sunday at Element Church we concluded our series called “Don’t Be A Fan”.  In this series we’ve been looking at what it means to truly follow Jesus.  We don’t want to be fans of Jesus = Enthusiastic Admirers.  We want to be followers of His.  This week I preached from Luke 9:57-62 and asked the question, “Where is a follower willing to go?”  We said this:  Where Jesus is going will only matter if I have the willingness to go.

In the clip below, I talk about how a follower of Jesus has to be able to “go away from anyone.”  There is a common misconception both inside and outside the faith that Jesus came to bring peace to the earth.  Jesus might have come to give us peace, and He may have done things in a peaceful way, but in His own words He tells us,28 “Don’t imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth!”  So what does it mean that to follow Jesus I have to go away from anyone?  Check out the clip below or watch full sermons HERE.
